The instructions in CONTRIBUTING.md don't seem to actually work in making the development environment. Packages that need to be installed, apparently, like
pytest-asyncio
, aren't included in the make commands that are presumably supposed to setup the environment.Other parts like the pytest command to run the tests seem to use options like
--nbval-current-env
that don't seem to exist or belong to any package. It's not possible to commit anything because the tests crash whenever the version for the package isn't a neat integer, which it isn't because it's a dev commit in between tags. Can't commit anything because of the pre-commit hooks requiring all the tests to succeed.
Am I missing something here? Are there missing steps or something that I'm overlooking? The contributing documents gives the impression that it's a few quick commands and it's not.
